At Jeff Hopkins we believe in keeping it local, we think that an estate agent is far more effective selling properties in an area that they know intimately. That’s why most of the properties we market are within a short distance of our office.

We not only work in the area but we live here too and are therefore best placed to advise you on living in the area and this also means we are best placed to advise you on the correct value of your property.

There are many reasons why this is one of the most sought after areas of the city to live in, not least of all its proximity to the City Centre with all that offers, the glorious 59 hectares of parkland which stretches from The Millennium Stadium through Pontcanna and all the way to Llandaff Cathedral.

Pontcanna offers many attractions, including excellent restaurants, friendly public houses, deli’s, coffee shops and specialist shops and boutiques. The area is predominately made up of larger 4-6 bedroom bay fronted Victorian terraces as well as some cutting edge contemporary houses and flats.

Nearby Canton is home of the renowned Chapter Arts Centre which provides a multi-artform cultural space that presents and produces international art, performance and film alongside a dynamic social space. There is a newly refurbished Library as well as Llanover Hall Arts Centre which offers an exciting specialist programme of hands-on arts activities for people of all ages and abilities. Cowbridge Road East offers a wide range of local and national chain stores. Housing in this area is predominately made up of 2-3 bedroom Victorian terraces.

The Victoria Park area of Canton is dominated by Victoria Park which is one of Cardiff’s best loved parks, its colourful flower borders and wide range of facilities have year-round appeal to all ages including the recent addition of the popular family “Splashpad”. The park is listed as Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens in Wales. On the edge of park you will find a popular crêperie and the wonderful “Petigrew bakery”. The area has a variety of traditional housing from smaller 2 bed terraces to suburban style 1930’s detached houses.

To the North is the community of Llandaff one of Cardiff’s most historical and charming suburbs, Llandaff is only two miles from the city centre, yet offers a glimpse of village life. At its heart is the magnificent 12th century Cathedral. The pretty high street provides for day-to-day needs. Llandaff is particularly well known for it’s Independent day schools and church schools for all ages. Cardiff’s oldest houses and architecture can be found here from tiny terraced cottages, luxury apartments to grand gothic style residences to traditional suburban houses in the wider area of Llandaff.
